HELI RODRIGUEZ PRILLIMAN ANNOUNCES RUN FOR U.S. SENATE FOR TEXAS

Fort Worth, TX, 09/05/2023 – Democrats in Texas haven’t won a statewide race in three decades. With its explosive growth into a majority Hispanic population, its highest rate of uninsured constituents in the US, and the divisive political climate fueled by billionaire funding, bland policy solutions won’t cut it in the upcoming election cycle.

Enter Heli Rodriguez Prilliman, a Latina tech entrepreneur and mom with rural Texas roots, launching her US Senate campaign. She’s a fierce advocate for universal child care and health care, small businesses and entrepreneurship, taking money out of politics, and addressing the challenges of Big Tech and artificial intelligence.

With family on both sides of the Rio Grande, Heli felt compelled to run for office in the aftermath of the Trump Administration’s inhumane family separation policy. Her late grandmother, Fort Worth civil rights leader Pauline Gasca Valenciano, instilled in Heli the duty to speak up and fight for what’s right.

“My grandmother was really brave. Always volunteering, picketing, door knocking, speaking truth to power. Giving so much of her time, energy, and whatever she could from her social security checks to serve others – and for what? For her to watch from heaven the rollback of our rights? While we cynically doom scroll all day? She taught us better than that.”

Heli’s entrepreneurial journey took her from Texas to Silicon Valley - and back. As the only woman in the 2024 democratic race eyeing Ted Cruz’s seat, she plans on disrupting Texas politics and offering voters a more relatable and unique candidate.
